Got the forks back today, after being powder coated.
to be honest it's not the exact colour I wanted, but close enough.
Judge for yourself.

That looks pretty close to the stock color, what were you looking for? (a change, or a repair)

Yeah, I was just wanting to spruce them up a bit, after the salt damage from last winter. Wanted to try and keep the stock look.

That work looks pretty good. How much did they charge you for that job?

Works out at just over $100. They did make a good job of it though.

That's what killed me when the guy in my neighborhood shut down his PC business. He coated my fork legs (including stripping) and upper shrouds for $40! The guy in town that bought his equipment charged me $225 to strip and PC my rear fender and Zmilin bracket. Probably twice what the previous owner would've charged.

Hi Bodger

Who did you use for this? My forks are more pitted than a ned's face right now and could do with coating along with both yokes. I'll keep an eye for you in town.
How's that low profile seat working out for you, tempted but I like my comfy gel

Hi Ronz
Try this place pitted forks not what you would call rapid service, but the workmanship is pretty decent.

Low profile seats ok, good for runs up to 100miles, any more and the stock seat goes back on.

It's easy. I'll post some instructions in Tech Misc so as not to derail this thread.

John sometimes you can under price your services and your business will fail. I have first hand knowledge of this.
On the other hand a business can over price their services.
Sounds to me like somewhere in the middle of the two prices would have been fair.
