Has anyone tried the rivco risers for the America? They bring the bars 2" closer and use the standard cables. I've ordered a corbin seat and was thinking of using the rivco risers with it. Any feedback appreciated.

Yep Paul
I installed these risers only a month or two after I got my 2007 America.
Easy install, no other expenses. All cables remain.
In my opinion they feel more comfortable and seemed to give a better, more solid, feel to the front end.

I got mine from Rivco at a bike rally in Panama City, FL a couple of years ago. I'd heard great things from people that had installed them. It made a world of difference for me. I can relax more on the hwy. and my riding position is more comfortable. Very easy to install and look much better than stock. Well worth every penny.

no got them from http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/whats_new.htmlalong with many other trinkets over the years. Like side stand pad, AI removal kit, centre stand, axle end caps, clutch lifter cover and idiot light LEDS. Their service is great I generally ordered on Thursday or Friday and they would get here by the following Tuesday. And now that our dollar is above theirs the price is much better.

Here's a pic for ya... Rivco risers, stock bars and Corbin seat. Do I like it? Oh yeah! I also pulled by bars back a little... put a stretch on cables but still doable.

Scooterworks also has a set for 80 bucks. I think 3" and 2and 3/4" back. Fit me good, no more back pain.

Did anyone else have any trouble fitting them with the stock cables?I've just had a look at mine and they seem fairly tight as is.

You shouldn't have any trouble. Remember they are coming back as much as they are going up. Took me just minutes to install.

I didn't know fasteddy's had them. The ones that I got come back farther and I did have to relocate the cables to the right side between the forks to get the slack I needed. Looks like I'll be spending some money at fasteddy's. He has some nice products and at fair prices too.

I had already ordered my risers elsewhere, but FastEddy sent me a note so I'm trying to cancel my order and re-order through him.He seems to be the man to deal with. Waiting for the cancellation to be confirmed.

Not that I dealt with him much but never had a bad experience with Eddy.He was inexpensive and fast, when he couldn't get my brakes to me as fast as expected he called me and let me know and told me why. Even at that he had them to me pretty fast.

How do these compare to the Jim's Spacers that was all the rage a few years back? Anyone had both ?

I have not had both... I have had my Rivco's for several years now and they made a huge difference in my comfort on the bike.

Jim's spacers are just an extra 1" in riser length. They don't do any additional pullback. It may not seem like a lot but they made a huge difference in comfort to me. Found that I had been "reaching" for the bars, causing me extra fatigue on long road trips. And they're cheap.

Vera Lynn has Jim's Spacers. Cinnamon Girl does not. FWIW I notice no difference in comfort, as in, I have never entertained purchasing a set of Jim's spacers for Cinnamon Girl. Whereas I will change out the rear peg hangers between motorsickles for comfort (oem vs newspeedmaster relocation brackets).
