When I bought my 790 Speedy in 03 I weighed in at a svelt 286. The bike in stock form hauled me around with no problem and a set of aftermarket pipes and intake mods really woke it up. You must remember that these are not huge torque engines and like to be wound up. I think you will be presently surprised at the power and handling of these machines. There are not a lot of big bore cruisers on the rode that will out leg you and definitly not out handle you. If I ever get around to installing my 904 kit, 813 cams and ported head the Speedy will be even better. I did swap out the rear shocks in 04 for a set of adjustable IKON's which was a good move and I am going to make some changes in the front supension also. The 865 engine stock has more grunt lower down than the 790 which would be a bonus if you are riding 2 up. These are good bikes and I can attest to the durabilty of the engines. Mine has run WFO for miles on end many a time and still runs like a top.
