I had thought that Florida required turn signals to be amber, but then the other day I followed a couple of motorcycle cops who had red rear turn signals. So I decided to check into it, and found
Florida Statute 316.234 which states the requirements.. man was I supprised! The front turn signals can be either amber of white (clear?), rear turn signals can be either amber or red, and get this, the brake light can also be either red or amber! I don't think I've ever seen an amber brake light, ever.. Now, what I'm wondering is, what happens when you travel through other states with different statutes? I'm sure an amber stop light, even though legal in Florida, may cause some hassle in other states. Can the other states give you a ticket for equipment that violates their statutes but is legal where the vehicle is registered?
Cheers,
Brad
