Harley had a really hard time because they forced all their dealers to move next to freeways and ended up only able to survive because of marketing their brand on everything in sight. I don't want our shop to ever be forced to move somewhere because of what someone sitting in an office thought might be a good idea.
As for entry level bike... When I talk to new riders I don't tell them to get an America because it is feet forward and new riders ususally feel more confident with feet under them. Yes it has a lower seat hieght, but it is more bike than a new rider should just jump right into. Wow...a lot of red flags in my thoughts right now.
I love my bike and it is not ever going back to trade "up?" for anything.

Don't knock on death's door. Ring the doorbell and run...he hates that! My bike photo bucket http://photobucket.com/MsChevious1
