Probably true Joe, however if I recall correctly, at least one could purchase from the factory an optional center stand for the standard Bonnies from the get-go back in 2001.
And, even though our BAs and Speedies were designed with those bolting up points for a center stand, it took a few years after the introduction of these models before one was available, and even then it was from the aftermarket and not a factory item.
(...further giving me the impression that even Triumph Motorcycles LTD of Jolly Ole England often thinks of our bikes as that proverbial "Redheaded Stepchild"!)
