So at what point in my life does 8 years of post graduate education make me too stupid to work a gas can. I got a new 2 gallon can to fill up the mower etc and I couldn't figure out how to work the dang thing. I had to pull a lever push a button and push down on the nossle. Really? What are we protecting from. I guess the average arsonist is smarter than me because I'll be danged if I can figure that thing out. Give me an open tube to dump this all over my garage!!! Come on a little volatile gas never killed anyone right?? Ha

Yeah, those new ones suck, I gut mine as soon as I get them... pull all those valves and flaps and crap right out

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

It's like the child-proof caps on medicine bottles - only children can open them.

As a tree man we go thru gas cans like mad. The best ones have a push button & a nice long nozzle. Push & gas flows let go & it stops. Spring loaded nozzles get modified immediately.

Unless I'm missing something in the description, I kinda like some of the new gas cans. When I had a regular push mower I used to spill gas all the time. With the spring loaded one you prime it, dump it, and when it stops flowing, pull up and it closes. Slick and clean. No spills. But I've always had a child-like attitude...

Nowadays I have an old riding mower and a regular gas can and perhaps because the filler is so much higher off the ground I have less trouble with that than a regular mower.

A candidate for another 'Now and Then' tread. In 1957 gas cans were easy to use, now you need to take a course in using them, sort of thing.
