say your stranded on an island and one day a pkg washes ashore with a lifetime supply of batteries a cd player and a box of cd's. the catch is, its all the same artist, his or her's entire collection. question is, what artist would you want it to be?? I'm thinkin the beatles or stevie wonder or i could probably listen to supertramp for the rest of my life. its kinda hard to make a choice, isnt it
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Led Zepplin or Pearl Jam if it included Eddie Vedders solo works.

Good question Newt, Reminds me of a story (I'm nearing the age where everything reminds me of a "story"). In 1979 I was preparing for a cross country journey from Utah to Illinois to drop off a buddy. We stopped off in Leadville for 10 days and St. Louis 3 days. I had a 1972 6 cyl GMC, a wooden canoe strapped on top, a 76 Bonneville strapped in the back & the world's smartest Black Lab on the bench seat. The GMC had a am radio and aftermarket 8-track. A so-called Utah friend gave us 4-5 8 track tapes to listen to. The best of the sorry musical lot was "John Denver's Greatest hits". I didn't realize Denver had enough hits to fill an entire 8 track. We mutually agreed we could only listen to it once a day. Some days, once was once tooooo much. AM radio local Farm Reports became our best entertainment. I won't even mention the scary stop at a back road general store somewhere in Missouri One artist? Maybe Ann Murray (if Keith's along), the Carpenters or Bobbie Goldsboro jh

If I could only pick one, I would find a band to do perfect covers of all my favorite bands and record them before I got myself stranded on an island. Although, I would probably have my laptop with me with some kind of internet connection so I could order more music online when I wanted more (not to mention I have about 6,000 songs saved on my laptop). Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't go hungry either because Dominos and Papa Johns has online ordering.

I'd sneak my Ipod. They make 'em so small now I could hide it like Christopher Walken with the watch in Pulp Fiction.

I gotta go with Floyd too. They've always been my favorite. To take it a step further, if I had to live with one album...probably Dark Side of the Moon.

I'd have to go with Phish. In addition to a lot of great original work, they have also covered a lot of other artists. They used to do an annual Halloween concert that was a cover of another artist's album. Here's a link to a list of the cover concerts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phish_and_their_musical_costumes

Yeah, Phish did a cover of the entire Dark Side of the Moon album. You can find some of the songs on youtube. Really cool.

A build your own boat and learn to navigate instructional cd would be my favorite Failing that, then its a toss up between Floyd, Sabbath or The Stones Although I wouldn't mind a Suzi Quatro/ Joan Jet just for the fantasies that would generate

Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Westlife. If that is not an incentive to throw yourself into the sea and negotiate sharks, sea snakes, pirates and violent waves then I think I'd deserve to be left on a desert Island.
