Hi

I have a couple of rusty footboards which I want to paint as I won't get any change out of £50 to get them chromed. Anybody tried any chrome paint spray cans with good results?

I would probably have them powder coated if chrome isn't an option. I think with the wear from your feet paint would wear fast. I don't know how tough that chrome paint is though
( I assume you mean that expensive professionally done chrome paint not out of a can. If can then don't do it!)

That "chrome" powder coat is pretty good stuff and looks better than the paint option. Neither really looks like chrome...
