How concerned should I be about being a little over spec on the clearances?
I measured the following (in mm):
Left Cyl.: Left Exh: .28, Right Exh: .31; Left Int:.23, Right Int: .24
Right Cyl.: Left Exh: .33, Right Exh: .28; Left Int: .21, Right Int: .20
I know the specs call for: exh:.25-.30 and Int: .15-.20, but how critical is it for them the be .01-.03 mm (.0015 in.) over spec.? Is it worth pulling cams, etc. to replace shims?
I don't hear much "clatter", more cam chain whine than anything else.
Also, FYI... The bikes got a little over 28,000 miles on her. Previous owner put a 904 kit on her but don't what else he may done to the engine. When I got her, she had just over 15,000 miles.
Thanks!
