Current UK fuel prices (give or take a couple of cents)
Using 4.55 litres per UK gallon and 3.79 litres per US gallon ..

Prices near me :
Petrol (gas) = £1.30 / litre ... Diesel = £1.35 / Litre

Using $1.50 - £1.00 conversion

Gas = $7.40 / US gallon OR $8.87 / UK gallon
Diesel = $7.68 / US gallon OR $9.21 / UK gallon

It shows Pittsfield MA a $3.42 - $3.50.

Blimey, it must have shot up there, as I was only paying $3.13 and at most $3.20 a week or so ago.

Or is this projected prices?

I certainly don't like the sound of the projected price of petrol to go to £2 a litre in the UK.

Just wait til Saudi Arabia decides to have a revolution.

It makes me wonder if one day in the not too distant future this forum will begin discussuions on the best ways of improving fuel economy rather than just ways of converting gasoline into noise?

Where I live that is no projection. I just passed a station on my way home from work where gas was $3.65 a US gallon.

This thread is too much of a temptation to get on my and start preaching about the price gouging, the record profits, and a host of other lies and cheats our fine upstanding government (along with big oil)has perpetrated against us.

I think we all know what a crock of shitaki it all is. If it werent Lybia, it would be some other BS reason. Hell its spring break,,, so prices go up,,,,OH its Vacation time so lets add 20 more cents to the price,,,, OH there is always some Mid east skirmish to blame.,,,,,,

We just have to suck it up, NONE of us wants to put the bike away for pleasure use. (as opposed to just using it as a commuter) and many of us will take a vacation. We just won't be able to go as far cause it will be too costly.
Why cant "THEY" see the impact on the rest of the tourism industry? More will suffer from record lows in attendance.

OOPS, ok off my

I don't even pay attention to gas prices anymore because it doesn't matter. I can't make my own fuel, and I need my vehicles, so I go to the pump and I fill up. Whatever. I just dropped $45 in the tank of the '49, still gonna keep driving it. I don't get to ride my cycle to work much, but I won't stop riding for pleasure. My work truck gets the worst mileage of all my vehicles, but I need it. I accept it. You don't like gas prices? Don't pay. See how far you go then. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to pay it, and I think it's BS too, but really, what can you do?

Listening to the radio the other day, a guy emailed in joking and said he couldn't understand what all the fuss was about, he put £10 in his tank ... it still only cost him £10

Not who I would have blamed. Obama is talking about tapping reserves though to bring prices down.I won't hold my breath.

My work truck gets 12 mpg, alllllll day long. But I don't have a choice. How else am I gonna get the material to the site and all my tools? Funny, most people have a solution, "just raise your prices to cover for it. Sure, and a lot my customers will say, "yeah, maybe I'll do it next year... Nuts. Whatch ya gonna do?

Yep, Rich and Dave nailed it. Whatcha gonna do? They charge what they charge and if you want it you gotta pay.

I just try to curtail unnecessary trips and combine the necessary ones to save what I can.

Won't stop riding the bike though, fill ups are still cheap in comparison; about $12-14 as opposed to $60 for the truck and $45 for the wife's car.
