"Who am I?" who the hell knows the answer to that?
According to my mom,--A perfect son, a never ending supply of pride and joy.

According to my dad,--No idea, he's not an expressive kinda guy.

According to my brother,--A solid guy, plays the long game.

According to my wife,--A 'geek' disguised as a tough guy

According to my daughters,-- I'm either an overreactive, obsessive lunatic who's best kept in the dark. OR a superhero. Depends on what they need and what they're doing.

According to my grandkids,--One thinks I'm a barf towel, the other is pretty sure Im a personal servant. Neither can speak yet, its hard to be sure.

Me? Im just trying to get through this thing the best way I know how.

I live in Dallas, because I grew up east of Houston. Dallas has better drainage.

Hi there - My name is Ken, I am 52, and have been riding for 14 years. I recently found this forum after purchasing a 2009 Triumph America in early July. Before that, I was riding a Honda Nighthawk 750. I've managed to put almost 1000 miles on the new bike since I bought it, and am really enjoying it. I live in central Massachusetts, about 10 miles south of Worcester if you are familiar with the area. Hoping to learn more about my new bike on this forum, and maybe meet up with some local riders as well.

Ken

Matt here, 33 years old. Got into riding last year on a 82 kawa kz550 ltd which I picked up off of Craigslist in a friend's suggestion. Great learner bike, took the MSF Course last fall and got on a '05 Speedmaster this summer. Love it! Looking forward to making it mine and learning from you all here. I live in SW Wisconsin- some great riding out here!

Hello every one!

My name is Sam and I live in Culver City, California. For those that do not know the area it is near Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Im here on this forum to learn as much as I can about my beautiful 2004 Triumph Speedmaster so that I can effectively work on it and take care of her myself. More advanced fixes I will save for my mechanic but I would rather get my hands dirty and do any and all of it myself if I can.

I have had my bike for a little over a year and got her with 6000 miles on her, since then I cannot help wanting to make some modifications to her to give her a personal touch. I ride everyday and in that, my bike has become my own personal kind of therapy. I would like to mention that I have been riding motorcycles (often other peoples) for over 5 years and I consider myself a skilled and confident rider. Not a douchebag on a rice rocket....even though they are a blast to ride.

I have it in my head to make some mods to my bike but I am trying to do a lot on a budget as money is tight these days. Hopefully that will change sooner than later.

Besides being a die-hard lover of Triumphs, I am a professional photographer and Public Relations professional. I work at a firm in Century City during the week and when Im not I have a number of personal photo projects I am working on or doing work for clients.

If any of you are social media inclined. You can follow me on instagram, Facebook, my website and blog or on twitter if you like. All of that information is below Im big on communicating my life with pictures but I also enjoy taking the time to craft a story with words.

Rich (name not nature)

60 years old, riding for 40 years.

Ex-computer type person now retired.

Had my America for 3 months now. A deliberate move from the fast adventure bikes (Tiger and GS) I'd been riding for the past 12 years. I'm getting too old for 600 mile days!

The America is light enough and fast enough for me these days with an excellent tank range. Just right for my yearly trip to France and Switzerland where I intend to stay off the motorways as much as I can.

Lived in Essex and the midlands but I've been in Brighton for 35 years and can't imagine living anywhere else. A fantastic and exciting place to live. Decent pubs, restaurants and venues, an independent cinema, the sea, the south downs and London only an hour on the train if I need even more cultural stimulation. The only fly in the ointment is that the roads can often be heavily congested but I try to avoid them anyway.

I used to play in a folk roots band which never quite made it despite good press reviews of gigs and CDs. In the end I had to give it up when the tinnitus got too bad. Now I write and record at home in collaboration with musicians across the world. Ain't the internet wonderful?

Cheers

Rich

Had a 650 TR6 in 1968; burgundy flake, chromed etc...stolen at University of Miami. Kids grew up so just returned to biking a few years ago..went through Suzuki 125, Honda 250 Rebel in a bout a year. Just got a 2013 Bonneville T100 this august. Mostly local trips. Put 2 1/2' handlebar pullback/risers and sheepskin butt pad and I'm good to go. Trying some heated gloves for the winter.

Alicesprings nt clean air , 5 minutes to anywhere in town, plenty of work for people 5 to 70 , good roads ( mainly straight unfortunateny ) and a return to unrestricted speed limits . The nt used to have open speed limits but governments changed it to 130 klms . We are now going back to unrestricted limits on a large peice of the highway. More deaths were recorded with lower limits , and most born and bred people from nt know their limitations. Most accidents were from people overseas or from interstate in Australia who tried and got to excited with open speeed limit. Just because it's legal to ride at whatever speed , people with brains will work out what is ok for them if they do it all the time. The roads here are good , be clued watch for animals at night and in dry wether day. Roos emus etc can stuff you up

Mark Alexander (B717doc), Gainesville Georgia, 2005 Triumph America (Goodwood Green) bought new in 2006, 65,000 miles on odo...no mods, except for baffle removal from mufflers, UNI filter, and procom ignition....Moved to Gainesville Georgia after recent divorce from Kimmy (BAMOM)....She sold her bike for $3000 after the separation, her choice, not mine....You will mostly see me around the Dahlonega area, and areas north of there...either on the America, or my 1966 TR6 that my mother graciously bought for me after her death in July...Had to sell my beloved 72 Bonneville that I totally resurrected from her earthen grave, after my car was stolen from a remote location on Lake Lanier...Currently engaged to "Red", that some of you met last year at the BA Rally in Dahlonega....would be good to see you guys....Renting now, but rebuilding credit rather rapidly (surprising), and looking forward to retirement soon from Southwest Airlines here in Atlanta...I've been through 3 airlines (ValuJet, AirTran, and now Southwest) in 18 years, all at the same location at Hartsfield....Southwest in process of overhauling the Atlanta Maintenance base, so lot's of changes...all for the better! Gearing up to buy new home in this area, or further North, but still in Georgia...Kids and grandkids flourishing, and spend lots of time with "Paw Paw".....Im happier now than I have been in nearly 25 years, and as the Scorpions say, "The best is yet to come"!

I,m new to this Forum, so Hello to all. I live in New Baltimore Mich. USA. I live in this frozen Tundra, because I was Born here and wasn't smart enough to run away when I was young. Now my adult children suffer the same fate, so here I stay. I do make it down to Florida now and then, but in my superior wisdom I decided not to travel this winter, DUH. Regards Tin Man 2. P.S. I ride an 02 America, 08 Sportster street tracer and restore Aermacchi's.

Keith, There is a lot of Side Hack info on the ADV Rider forum, Side Cars are more popular in Europe and they are well represented on the ADV forum.

Hampton Roads, VA I live here because 13 years ago my best friend who knew nothing of the real navy at the time came back and told me what a great gig it was. Being a broke college student who couldn't stand to live at home any more i decide that was for me. Got to bounce around a bit Middle east, Greece Rhode Island. So Virginia is where I call home... For now

Grew up in New England, Ct specifically, in a motorcycle family. Dad was a m/c dealer before I was born so motorcycles were in my blood. Raced in the dirt, then the woods and finally on the pavement. Spent 4+ years in Texas but the riding sucked. Flat, straight and hot roads are not my thing. Relocated to eastern Tn and lo ing it. Just got my first new bike in 40+ years, a 2014 Bonneville America LT. A little over 700 miles and taking my first of many trips, on the BA that is.

Hello everyone! I'm Paul Runion and I am a cycle-holic. I live in the beautiful state of Florida whenever I am not touring all of the lands, racking up air miles and Hilton Honors points. Over the years I have acquired a pretty good grasp of the inner workings of the machines that we all love.

I'm very lucky to live in Northern California and in wine country. We have incredible back roads and twisties and every vista is prettier than the last. All the hills are coated with vineyards so it's gorgeous all year round.

A typical ride consists of riding through Sonoma County or Napa with miles of often very little traffic, on paved well tended roads.

Name is Mike. I live in Illnoise for now until my oldest Daughter graduates from University in three years. The day after that wonderful event I will be moving to my farm (60 acres) approx. 20 miles from Osage Beach, Missouri.
Gonna raise some cows, chickens, pigs, goats, guinea fowl, etc and grow my own crops/food.
PLUS - There is some awesome riding to be had in that area.

Hi guys and girls, my name is Peter and I live in the city of Ballarat which is in the state of Victoria, Australia. I was born in this neck of the woods and never left, which is ok because I like this end of Aussie. I ride a 2007 america which i've owned for almost six years and i've travelled 60.ooo klms on it. I'm not sure if this is where you formally introduce yourself but I could'nt find anywhere else, this is my first post so I thought I would start here. I'm not real good with computers (born long before they were invented) so I'm just feeling my way around.

hello. I am a motorcycle enthusiast, I own a speemaster 2003. I hold her as if it were a person, I care, I keep it always in order, with her I experienced moments of pure happiness, since the own I met beautiful people who are passionate about motorcycle and travel .I shared with some of the passion that unites all riders of the way that they live in a spirit of peace and brotherhood. a nice clean way to relate to people of peace who want to share their feeling when they go around the streets of the world with their bikes.

Well hell, seems like it's been a while since anyone posted here.

47 or 48 (Can never remember) living in NW Pennsylvania. Right outside the great city of Erie. Closing in on my first year on a bike, learned a lot, and have a thousand times that more to learn. Born and raised in Erie, moving away a couple of times only to seem to come back. First wife and I had a deal, when she got her house, I got my bike. Moved to Indiana for work. 14 years 361 days into the marriage, she got the house, and I still never got the bike. Moved back to PA. Wife two, at the time, I didn't know was the spawn of satan himself. Tricky little bi#$h. Fell head over heals, and moved to Florida with her, she had always wanted to move there. Quit my new job of 7 years, packed up and just moved. 6 Months into that one the horns started popping out and she had a change of heart, never wanting to be married. So.....moved back to PA, again. Third times a charm right? Well, it sure is for me. After I had all but given up on the bike, and about 2 years into the marriage, she says to me, why don't you get a bike. Well, that's all I needed!!! I took a riding class, seeing as it was 30 years since I even sat on one, and went on the hunt for what to buy. HD has always been the dream, and through the years I had sworn if I get a bike, it's going to be a Harley! Asked around with some folks I knew who had bikes.... Sure, stop on over and check it out, can't ride though, not running right. Seemed to be a general response. One day while driving home from who knows where I spotted out local little Triumph shop (which, closed up less than a year after I got my bike...grrrr) and decided to stop in. Didn't want the smallest bike they had. Didn't want the biggest bike they had. Seemed like the America LT was right about in the middle, felt good, and a match was made. Now, nothing against HD, and I'd still like to get one someday, but for me, now, my hearts with my Triumph.

That's my story in a nutshell. Love to make new friends, and learn as much as I can.

September 23, 2015 brought her home. My son said it was the most bad ass thing I have done.
September 26, 2015 my daughter went on her first motorcycle ride. My god she is just like her mother. She loved it. Being a wise father and knowing that only 3% of the motorcycles in the U.S. are Triumph, the sales guy at the dealer told me that, I told Kate should could date any guy riding a Triumph.
It was a great birthday. Found a great bike and a great web site with great people.

Does it really matter what you call me, fellas? Or what I call you? Isn't the most important call the one we make to that party-line of the collective unconscious, that string of mysterious arbitrary digits that we add up on our mental abacus and call 'us'? We call us and who answers? We do.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
