Fantastic work done with the mid-pegs/controls there!

(...to say nothing of the fantastic work done on the rest of this beautiful custom!)

Love it.
Those fat front tyres (correct spelling, btw ) look smart.
Too bad he spent all his money on the bike, he had no cash left for some decent jeans

I knew his rearsets would be popular. We've seen the bonnie tank mod before. Most people roll their own rearsets with the stock controls rather than fitting aftermarket controls like he did.

Don't forget the other side...

Sweet! He calls the Thruxton tank a direct bolt up, from what I've heard here the T-100 tank requires a little tweaking and is a bit shorter. Nick's looks awesome. I love the knee indents on our tanks but would have forgone all the work of smoothibg my tank had I known that would look so good.

Same here. That tank doesn't sit right, it looks awkward to me. Those aren't mid controls either, but rather rear sets. Very nicely done, but I can't imagine they are comfortable. Any shots of him riding it? Interesting, but not my cup of tea.

Nick seemed a bit concerned that people here would hate it. I said at worst people will say it's not their cup of tea. We don't usually hate on stuff like the chop cult people.

I also said someone would get their nose out of joint about the commentary in the chop cult article. Just keep in mind that wasn't Nick. That was the author of the article, catering to an audience of gearheads who build stuff mostly from scratch. It's his business to deride stock bikes. And read the comments, plenty of people, including Nick, come to the bike's defense.

Aaaaaaand, that's EXACTLY how I prefaced my original posting here, John. I made it a point NOT to "attack" Nick in it, BUT to call attention to what I felt were Mr. Bill Bryant's "careless" choice of words in his article about Nick's fine workmanship.

(...however, as you can see, this is all academic now, as I've moved my "ire" of MR. BRYANT'S wordings over to the Lounge)

OMG...... the funny thing is.... I thought the same thing. After I saw the video, I threw those jeans away and went out and bought new jeans. I also went on a diet and lost a few pounds. I gained 20 pounds during that build! I like to work on my bikes and eat Cadbury Dairy Milks with a few pints of Guinness every night. Very good eye on the jeans

HEY! Welcome to the site here, Nick!

Like I said above, I think you did a great job on your bike...especially with those foot pegs.

(...just do me a little favor here if ya will...tell your friend Bill Bryant to watch how he phrases his opinions from now on...okay?!)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I already spoke to Bill about the article. He is actually a really good guy and a huge Triumph fanatic. He is currently working on a Scrambler as we speak. I think he was trying to cater to the Chop Cult guys. You have to understand, my bike is typically not the type of bike you would see on the Chop Cult. So I think he had to play it up a bit. He is totally not like that at all ( I know it's hard to believe). To be honest, I have taken a lot of criticism from some of the Chop Cult guys (not posted though) for the bike not being "rat rod" enough. Bill saw something in my bike and decided to post it regardless of what people thought, most likely not knowing it would end up on this site.
Anyway.... it is what it is and I am really thankful for the positive feedback on the bike. This was my first try at a custom after a lifelong passion with motocross. I still need to get my license so I can legally ride this thing!
Thank you John for featuring the bike. I am flattered.

Welcome and right on Nick. I posted on another forum here essentially what you are saying. Out on a ride I'm sure we would all get along famously. We love our Triumphs and don't always take criticism kindly. Say what you like about us but leave our bikes out of it.

Hey Nick, welcome to the site. We appreciate quality work here weather we like it or not. Your bike isn't my cup of tea but I can see the quality workmanship and time put into it and can appreciate it for that and it is a good looking machine.

I live in California now, but I grew up in Jacksonville on the westside. My wife grew up at the beach. We go back 3 times a year to see our parents. One of these days I will go back. The riding weather is great in Southern California, but I miss the south and my family. It's good to hear from someone in Jax. I will have to PM you when I take my next trip back.
