I love that bike! Been around for a while. I "blogged" a picture of that tank Grail had on Knuckleduster.com years ago, but he didn't have any other pictures of it. Nice to see the whole thing. I don't know enough about the market to know if that's a good price or not. Seems fair to me.

EDIT: I've been thinking about putting black engine covers on my silver America engine and I was wondering how it would look. Answer: badass

Yep! It's a beauty alright, though it just needs one little thing to make it a "perfect beauty"...A FRIGGIN' REAR FENDER!!! Preferably bobbed, of course!

(...so, somebody inform me here...what's with this no rear fender thing that seems all the rage nowadays, HUH?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh, and John...yeah, I'd say $9600 for that beauty is probably just about a fair price...considerin' all the work and very nice touches on it.

thats a mean machine.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe

Be good incentive not to gain any weight (or lose some in my case). Didn't we have someone here have an ass grabbing no rear fender experience recently?

make sure that bag on the back won't fall off. i came up on a guy who got his sleeping back stuck in there and it was bad news.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Funny, but true story here.

While on the EDR last year, I hit the pothole of all potholes at high speed.
I bounced up off of the seat, and when I came back down, I hit on top of the rear tire.
It grabbed my ass with such force that it pulled me through between the tire and the frame, and swing arm, and plastered me to the asphalt.
The rear wheel then went over me, throwing the bike into an end-over-end cartwheel.

All I EVER heard was a "BEEP-BEEP"

Needless to say, after that experience, I have installed a bobbed read fender, so it will NEVER happen again!

Thank goodness I wasn't wearin' a helmet, or my head could have gotten stuck between the tire and the swing arm. Not to mention. the damage to the bike would have definitely been worse.

Probably the most common comment that gets passed on from generation to generation.

They only describe the bike as "completely gone through and is ready ride". Which in chopper sales is code for "sure to break soon after you buy it". Even if it does blow, that seems like a low enough price. Although the fact that they left "to" out of that sentence above isn't a confidence builder either.....

Also just noticed this:
"This bike starts, stops and runs as you would expect from a one that looks this good."

I hope their build skills are better than their sentence structure.

I would like it with a long thin ribbed fender front and back.

Ah, come on now, Al! I'm not sure about that. Ya see, I know you read almost as much of our fellow BA.com members' postings around here as I do, and it's always appeared to me from the many pictures posted AND the text describing their Pride and Joys at this website, that THEIR bikes all pretty much seem like they're in pretty good running order!

(...and this DESPITE the many many MANY mistakes some of our buddies constantly make with THEIR syntax!!!)
