Not exactly what you're talking about here, I have two lightbars, one stock Triumph width, the other has the stock mounts cut off and new ones on. I run one wider one with the windshield, the shorter one without. They are both wired with a 6-pin quick connect plug under the lower fork tree. When the windshield goes on, the two bolts for the lightbar need to come off anyway to attach screen mounting hardware, so it's no big deal to swap out.
