Guess I'm odd. I'd rather work on new, computer management engines than old carb'd motors. I have an OBDII program on my laptop. If I get a code, I plug it in and the computer tells me what parts need replaced. Once you start working on newer cars, they are all pretty much assembled in a similar way.
Having said that, I've never owned or worked on a minivan (Sedona). I suspect the way those motors are installed, particuarly V6's, that any work could be a royal PITA. I made it through raising two kids without a minivan and now hope to keep that streak alive! Our '96 Impala SS served in the "mom's taxi" role quite well and I wasn't embarrassed to drive it.
Agreed, I'm so comfortable with OBD II,EFI,DIS, I barely remember carbs and points and certainly have no desire to go back. I would like the room in an old engine compartment though and those days are gone too.
