I regularly check out the MC area on Craigslist to see what's out there. Today, there's a company selling Custom Fork Extensions - Slugs we used to call them. "Give Your Bike That Chopper Look" they say.

I know folks used to run them, but I hadn't seen these things for decades. For good reason!

Could you add a link please?

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe

Their reputation for failure is why I was surprised to see them advertised and why I posted in the Lounge and not Accessories. It's also the reason I didn't include a link. Much better to have forks made. I think Ian (Dog33) has recommended Frank in the past, but I'm sure there are others equally able.

Chad, I'll PM you the link, but trust me, you don't want to buy these things.

Last I talked to Frank he needed an example of our fork tubes to copy. He was making std Bonnie tubes but he wanted me to send him Wendy's old fork tube to make me a set of new ones. NEVER use slugs.

I have heard of them before, and knew they were crap, but never seen a set. How/where do they go on the forks? Do they mount to the top of the tubes? Or the bottom of the sliders?

They thread in instead of the caps on the top of the fork tubes then the cap threads into them. Putting too heavy a load on the joint prone to failure.

Brother had them on his original Bonneville. Lasted a few weeks then took them off. He swore they were trying to kill him
