I read on www.motorcycle.com yesterday I believe, about Buell again. He is building street bikes again. Pretty nice sport bike, wish I could say the same for the price. Suppose to start around $39,000 USA Dollars. They were calling it an American Bimota if I remember the story correctly. Hope he makes a go of it.Maybe without Harley telling him how to do thngs they might do better.

He has had some great ideas that is for sure. His underslung muffler on the Buells is just one example they all seemed to copy that on the sport bikes. If they sell a few maybe they will be able to drop the price down some. Then again lots of people pay that $39K and more for their Harleys. I new a guy bought a CVO and it ran him $43K out the door.Crazy.

But he also has blindspots. He took one of the best looking
Harley engined bikes ever, the Cyclone, threw it away and replaced
it with that monstrosity of a Firebolt. The Lightning and
Ulysses weren't any better. The oil in swingarm was okay,
but that fuel in frame was ugly & hid the engine. By doing
so with an air cooled engine, the frame got hot enough to burn
your hand. I'm not a fan of rim mounted brakes either.
More ugly stick engineering. That's the thinking of a racer,
where all that matters is shaving lap times. As a race engineer,
he's brilliant. Steetbikes, like I said, blindspot.

39,000 bucks for a bike that can only race against 600s.

I am sorry, I just never got it. Guess I never will.

He can keep it.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
