There are 2 small bolts/screws that hold that post in the fender. You need small hands to get a wrench between the fender and the tire to take the nuts off the bottom of them. Jacking the rear of the bike off the floor helps a little bit.



You can also turn the shocks all the way up to their stiffest setting to give you more room if you don't have a jack. I have small hands though, so for you big ham-fisted knuckle draggers this might not work.
