Some one much wiser than I (not a strech really) once told me the only question that is "dumb" is the one you don't ask.
First you must remove the Pilion (rear seat) unblot the bolt at the rear of the seat and slide the seat forward and then up (it's a keyhole type slot) the saddle (front seat) bolt will then be obvious, its got a funky head which the keyhole slot (from the rear seat) locks onto, but the top is a regular hexcap bolt head, remove this and remove saddle sim. to rear seat.
