Hi Gina, I agree that it does not matter who develops a product and your uncle is dead wrong. Everything was not invented here!

Think of this though. What if you spent time, money and energy developing, manufacturing, and marketing the latest widget only to have another company steal your idea and bring it to their market? How would you feel, seeing your product on the market and you not getting a penny for all your efforts?

Here in the US, your recourse would be a patent infringment suit. With an overseas company, it is very difficult to get a cease and desist order. Large companies walk away and move onto something else. Small companies (like the developers of Draggin Jeans) lose money and potentially go out of business. The proper way for these outlaw companies would have been to license the product.
