It's been a while I know, but I'm still here gearing up for summer. I'm really interested in these Tsukayu bags. Friar's got some good pics up of his bike with them on. Question from me is why is there so much space between the fender and the bags? I get it... you can conceal a 44 revolver in there, but other than that why can't they go closer to the fender? Is it absolutely necessary for swingarm clearance? I'll also consider any mounting recommendations from the crowd. I've got easy brackets layin on a shelf, but I won't cry about not using them.

Gotta have clearance for the shocks and the ends of the axle, especially if you have the chrome axle covers. Also, several folks have quick release brackets which cause a fair gap.

It's really not that much of a gap with the brackets that come with the bags keep in mind, fasteddy sells them now that are redesigned so they work with the easy brackets and don't stick out any farther than the originals on solid mounts

Are those large or jumbo strongs? Fast Eddy got the vinyl wrapped yet?
Edit: Yes he does... Sweet.

Just do it. You won't regret it. They are awesome. Just be careful when measuring and drilling the holes.

Friar, was it you that had the templates for drilling the holes for the hard bags. I just ordered them from Fast Eddy. I know there was a thread about somebody making a template, but it must have been deleted after being so old. I can't find it.

was this the thread: Hard Bag Install ? If yes, I don't know the template will work anymore. I heard the brackets were different now.

I didn't make a template, not one that I could effectively transfer between bags, that's why mine aren't even. If I put them back on the America I'll probably redo the holes. Come to think of it, if I put them on a Roadster I'll redo the holes too.

I just installed mine about a week ago and keep on getting compliments. They weren't too difficult. The first takes a little longer (hour) to get lined up and marked to be sure, but I made the template from it to lay on the other side which only took about 10 minutes to drill and mount. Great bags I recommend to anybody.
