I live in So Ca and this weekend I hit some rain. I have no front fender so when the rain was coming down hard combined with the spray off the front wheel, I couldn't see. So what do you guys do?...I know putting the fender back on is an option but the few times it rains here I would rather leave it off

We suffer, short & simple. For those of us that get caught in the rain without fenders, OR HELMET,It's NOT the water in the face that really makes it bad, IT'S THE ACIDIC ELEMENTS IN THE ROADWASH! The eyes burn like hell! But, people deal with it. Most just stop and wait it out. Just like some of the more "cautious" riders, with fenders, and helmet. If I were leaving the sanctum of my fish bowl (going out-of-state), I'd put on my fender & brain bucket.
And you may see me tonight

Yeah I got caught a few times. I just dealt with it, and really didnt think it was that bad. The thing that sucked was that it kept "raining" even though the rain already stopped. I didnt realize until I stopped at a red light.
All I had on my eyes were riding glasses with foam edges and I could see pretty good. I guess it helps to have a big caveman brow sticking out there like a gutter...haha.
I always had an idea of a fold up front fender made of canvas that stored away under the bike and could be installed under and overpass on the shoulder.
.....Yeah I just dealt with it...haha

What's the attraction to running without a fender... is it just a 'looks' thing? Hmmm, I may have just answered my own question!

Goggles.
When I put my first 120/90 front tire on I hadn't modified the front fender bracket on so ran without. All it took was a few good-sized puddles to motivate me to get my buddy to weld some steel onto the bracket so I could redrill the holes for clearance. Now I would run without a fender only if I decided my bike was strictly for bar hopping, shows and local poker runs. Might even grind off the mounting tabs in that case.

Yeah at first I took it off to get a new front tire put on. And I didnt feel like going home and building anything, I wanted to ride it. I had full intentions of putting it back on because all the elders were shouting NO! from the mountain tops.
After riding it a bit without it, and holding the fender up to it, I couldnt put it back on.
Even with a fender, I still avoid riding in the rain. I dont have as much fun when its wet out. So now when I get caught it the rain it just sucks a bit more than it did anyway.
Either way, I refuse to let a cosmetic change affect my riding habits. I dont say to myself "oh well its gonna rain and I dont have a fender so screw it."
I'll let the rain catch me if it wants.

The bandanna sounds like a good idea...I usually don't ride in the rain, but last weekend the storm was moving out and sunny on the other two days...so I am going with just deal with it and try the bandanna thing...

I've seen the bandana in a lot (ok, a few) of pic's of bikes without fenders, and wondered if that was why they did that. I dismissed the thought, thinking it was too far forward. But I guess I'll rethink it.

I don't have a fender on my '66 chopper and it does indeed suck in the rain. I darn near lost a contact the last time out. On our bikes, I think a fender would look better than a bandana....

I remember now...It is all you guy's fault...I had the fender brace on the bike and you told me to take it off, that would have cut the spray off the front wheel.....LOL

nah it was MY fault, I told you to do it..haha
Look at the bigger picture here. You live in Huntington Beach not Seattle.
If you rode your bike 200 days a year and got caught in the rain 2 times, you'd be "riding fender" for 1% of your riding.
The other 99% youre johnny safety in the sunshine!
Sht, I'm from NJ and been caught in the rain 4 times in the last 3 years/12,000 miles.

Have to say that the stock front fender on my late and unlamented 04 wideglide had the natty knack in the rain of directing 2 jets of water through the slots on the supports right up into my face...... Quaint.
