as good as these bike's are folks
whats your thoughts on them dragging a trailer around?
on my trip to Victoria over christmas their would have been a few more thing's i would have liked to have taken to make it more comfy for myself ....just over 5200k round trip in 9 days
i've been looking around and a local bloke make's these and with 200 liter cargo space it would fit in nicely with my plans
this is the web page if you'd like to have a look at the spec's

Should not be a problem. Ed, biker, has a trailer he pulls with his BA and Tiger no problem. I'm sure he'll chime in any second....

thanks guy's
it is a compact trailer and with 200 liters of cargo space i think it'd do me nicely
just curious about the drag behind the Speedy ....
mind you i'm sure the old FJ1200 i have would'nt even notice it at all
then again i'd sooner turn up at a rally on the Triumph

These bikes can definitely lug a small trailer around. That one looks pretty nice too.

i know a guy who bought a small(maybe 4x4) trailer frame from northern tool, then mounted a rooftop luggage carrier to it (one of them boxes you see on the roof of minivans) and he has lots of room for his stuff and hauls it around with his Bonneville. sez it works great for when he and his wife travel. so he is hauling this trailer and riding 2 up.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Its a kool lookin trailer, thats for sure but having never pulled a trailer on a bike, wouldn't it interfere with your riding experience?

Hmmm - very nice trailer. Only 90kg fully loaded -I suspect that would be less noticeable on performance than a pillion.

Biker Ed has some good info on single wheel trailers like the one he built. Never yanked a bike trailer meself, but one would have to believe a single wheel must surely enhance the riding experience vs. a 2 wheeled rig. A search here should provide his posts. Me & the search syntax don't get along well, or I'd post the link for you.

A trailer has got to be a valued addition to motorcycle camping, as opposed to something like :

The guy who loaded up like this was asked to ride 6 miles behind his fellow riders, while they wore double paper shopping bags over their heads.

Buying super light, super expensive, super compact backpacking gear would probably still be cheaper than a trailer.

did you pull the wheels and check the bearings before you left??? and grease them ???

I don't care who makes the trailer even if it's brand new pull the wheels and check...or if there are grease fittings put the grease gun to them and pump to you see grease run out the side's

I am in the prosess of making a trailer for my 05 Ammerica and i is going to look the same as the fuel tank and combining the rear fender and I am useing the same rear light indicators and number plate bracket. It will have the badges on the side to match the bike and have a gas cap with the instament panel. Under the gas cap will be the locking system for the traler and to support it when it is not conected it will have te same side stnd as the bikes. I have most of the parts now just need to make the body for it. The size of the body will be twice the size of the tank.

yes greased them before i left..1200mile trip..i had another trailer with the wifes car that had no problem with more weight ,,harbor fright trailer had the bike...i think it was just poor construction,,or just bad luck,,,the POINT is that the odd ball size made real hard to replace.

after so thinking i decided to by a trailer
as much as i liked the trailer from Classic Trailers i have trouble parting with that much cash for something that'll get used maybe 4-6 times a year....so i bought a cheapee put together job
it cost 499 dolla delived from Melbourbe to here about
1800k's away
turned up in 2 cardboard boxes
weighing a total of 60kilo's so the weight factor is good for me
next thing i neded is a towbar.....again not wanting to pay 390 dolla for a ready made 1.... i made my own for a cost of under $50
here's a pic of the towbar ,what do you think?
and fitted

Not being a hitch expert, the workmanship looks really good to me. My 2 concerns would be the clearance for swing arm movement and the flat stock struts. The flat stock might allow sway. These are just thoughts, I have very little experience with cycle hitches.
