I purchased the boards, then returned them. Being short legged, well, just short overall, it seems that I would have to bend my ankle at a weird angle to lay my foot flat on the board. Distance riding seemed as though it would hurt.

Do the boards come back so far that planting my foot flat won't be an issue?

Charles, the angle of the board is a little weird, and they do mount pretty far forward, but... being forward means you can still put your foot forward close to where the pegs go, and on a long run, I can hang my foot off the back end near where a standard peg would place your foot. With the Ma's full size crash bar, I can rest my heel on the board and prop my toes on the bars to stretch out. They don't interfere at all with putting your foot down, but make it a little awkward for the vertically challenged to get the kickstand up (depends on what boots I'm wearing, I'll do the kickstand thing before I get on).

got an 03' Speedmaster, and I just installed the Kuryakyn Dually ISO pegs, and ISO stirrups, and they look and feel really snazzy. With the stirrups angled right, they have the same provide the same ability that boards do, to just slide your feet forward to manipulate the controls. Retaining the "simple peg" look, they fold up almost as well as stock pegs do, are more attractive than the pegs (and to my mind, the boards), and have the same comfort features. www.mascycles.com sold me the whole shooting match with the triumph adapters for less than $150, and it took me about 20 minutes to swap out the pegs on both sides (the majority of that time was angling the pegs and stirrups to my personal quirks). So anyhoo, keep the kuryakyn stuff in mind, if you're contemplating an upgrade from the stock pegs.
