However, I of course was just kiddin' a bit with that comment of mine there.
In fact, I believe my father wasn't inducted until about mid-'42, and shortly thereafter would go on to fight "The Desert Fox" in North Africa, and then on to Sicily, up "The Boot" of Italy, and then to France and Germany towards the latter half of the war.
