I have just received a procom cdi and went to install it on my 05 speedmaster.
The OEM is held to the mounting bracket by what appears to be plastic tabs (very strong plastic tabs)

My question is - do I just tear into them? I thought they may be covering screws, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Here's how I got them out.
Take two flat blade screwdrivers, put them on opposite sides
of the tabs and twist slowly.
It should pop right out.
If they do break, just replace them with whatever fits.
As long as it secures the bracket tightly.

Well, that's weird. When I borrowed Moe's procom it had a bracket on it. Did they stop that? Or maybe Moe put it on. Hmmm. Never thought about it, just assumed the bracket came with it.

I bought a bracket for it. You can use pan head bolts with nuts in place of the barbed rivets.

Once I knew what they were I was able to use the large flathead screwdriver to remove them.
The procom is in place and I have the maps...now to find the one that works best.

I have one of these in the tool box. It's for door panels, but works great for barbed fasteners. About $10 here at Autozone, etc.
