Okay NW kiddies, it's about 90% likely I will be missing the rendezvous at Mike's in Idaho. Today is testing day (and it's pouring outside right now). If the bike runs with flying colors today after flogging the crap out of it, I will consider leaving for Idaho in the morning on the bike. Any hiccups whatsoever and I won't. It's that simple. Depending on the hiccup, I may still leave for Wellsville Wednesday morning and meet you there. Failing that I'll see you in Prescott in my cage. If that happens I may rent a !@#$% Harley in Flagstaff so I can ride on Saturday.

I had a particularly witty & inciteful comment partially based upon the ghosts of Lucas past(), superfluous U's () and June snows in Montana (), but wisely deferred to self-censorship

Safe travels man .

Funkletrumpet did it several years ago. It sure was nice having some quality time with Dwight when we had to go bail his a$$ out with gas when he ran dry. And why was that? Left his gas cap somewhere...

Actually it was the Friar who ran out of gas. Though Funkle did lose his gas cap.

I think Wagner - he uses more "horns" I'm practicing Die Valkyrie. Truly inspired by watching "Apocalypse Now: Redux" over the weekend.

I'm driving. Hey Dwight, how early can I show up? It's going to take me half as long to make it there now. But I really should get the oil in the cage changed. Might leave Wednesday. Be there sometime Thursday.

Also, can I get a ride to Flagstaff on Friday?

Thursday will be fine, John.

Re the ride to Flag: Why don't ya just leave your car there when ya p/u the Harley? I'm sure they'd probably have a lot which you could just leave it in.

Or, HERE'S maybe a better idea...I saw Becky in Williams this past Thursday night when we meet Stewe and his gang while they were takin' that Route 66 ride they're on. She said she'll be leavin' Flag on Friday to get here, and so maybe you could just drive to Flag and stay over Thursday night at Becky's, get the Harley on Friday, and ride to Prescott with her that day.

Hey John, here's a fairly new place here in Prescott that rents out H-D's and Gold Wings.

http://mhr2r.com/

This might be another option for ya instead of doin' the Flagstaff thing.

Ya know, Dwight, you may have just saved me a bunch of money. If I can pick up a Harley from these dudes in Prescott maybe I can keep it for just a day instead of two or three. I sent them an email and will follow up tomorrow.

Hey guys, especially your NW guys. I know it was mentioned before but if you get a chance to carry the journal back up to Nelson, that would be a very cool thing. Go well my friends!

Find out anything from Mile High Rent 2 Ride yet, John?

(...and yeah, overall this option sounds like it would save ya a bundle here, and logistically be a much better option, also!)

Terrific!

Well, considerin' that it's a Harley, maybe I should've just said, "Well, that's good then."!

(...and don't worry, when we Triumph riders get to all the twisties, we'll slow down a bit so we won't lose ya!)

They rent trailers but there's no mention of polish on the site. I'm only going to have it for 24 hours. How much can it tarnish in that amount of time? After all, it's not that shoddy Triumph chrome...

Yeah, that wind was pretty brutal all the way down I-15.

I got off I-15 at Nephi and headed for Richfield. I'm off I-15 for the rest of the trip. Not sure where you are cutting over from I-15. There's a lot of construction all along the SLC corridor. Ironically it ends just before Nephi. But even in the car a two-lane road was a breath of fresh air.
