Nor had mine in over seven years, until my trip to the west coast. Both pods came off at different times. Probably a combination of the wear and tear over the years and the extreme heat of the desert regions.
I've just replaced the original clamps with a thicker radiator type hose clamp. This seems to be a much better grip.
