Is it just me, are concert tickets OVER THE TOP !
$82.50 for Steve Miller tickets, are you kiddin me.
I think the Eagles started this gouging on their He11 Freezes Over tour.

If Hendrix came back from the dead I would consider it, then I would realize that $82.50 IS TOO DAM N MUCH !

What makes me angry is places like Ticket Master buy most of the tickets and sell $20 tickets for $80.

Paid $160 for Eric Clapton a while back , but they where floor seats and paid $90 for Roger Waters The Wall and the seats where shyte ( great concert tho well worth it)

I havent been to a concert in years cause of the high prices. Heck, even the casinos are overpriced. LAst one I checked on was, I think, Carlos Mencia and was about 80-90 a seat a year ago.

I do prefere small bands that you find in clubs that play original bands.

They are gonna be here in a few weeks. I don't do the concert scene much, but I would like to go see them. Small venue, no big arena concert. Last big concert I went to was years ago, Aerosmith with Stone Temple Pilots opening, great show... last small show I went to was last fall, Chuck Berry, second row, maybe 250 people there

For $150, it should include a lap DANCE from Marie! (or Donny )

$37 for Social D is still too much. I don't need to see these groups in person anymore. I'd look pretty stupid bobbin' my head at a Primus concert.

Nope, I'll take that $37, add in the other $50 of misc., and buy their complete CD library, for listening to for the rest of my life.

A frustrated wife bought a pair of crotchless panties in an attempt to spice up her seemingly dead sex-life.

She put them on, together with a short skirt, and sat on the sofa across the room from her husband.

At strategic moments she uncrossed her legs, many times, until her husband finally said.... "Are you wearing crotchless panties?"

"Y-e-s," she answered with a seductive smile.

"Thank God for that... I thought you were sitting on the cat."

He never heard the gunshot.

well Michael, it takes a lot of people to set the show up and they are all union workers, sooo one guy can haul a cable to where it must go but then another guy has to come and plug it in and so on. you can see where the price can get kinda extreme, then there is the band, each member gets 2 to 400 bucks a gig plus travel, lodging and expenses now you can see where that adds up pretty fast and the list go's on and on. Chuck Berry had it figured out, he uses local talent and travels in the cheapest mode possible to the gig. but if a guy has a band and a couple trucks of equipment and drivers and roadies and on and on and on the price can start adding up pretty fast. it didnt use to be that way back when tickets were 5 or $10 at the door. of course that was when we were making $1 hr hahahaha i hate it also, i cant remember the last real concert i went to that i paid to get in. i know that last few concerts i went to, its just that i didnt pay, i had VIP access. and the bigheaded headliner has to get what he thinks he is worth, somebody like a usetobe shouldnt charge more than 20bucks and just be thankfull somebody still wants to see them hahahahahahaha

Two seats, for what, four hours, maybe?
At over $300!

Add just a little, and have a Corbin for life.

Last concert for me was Allman Bros, five years ago. Med sized venue. Six rows back,it was like sitting in my den.
I think I could smell the Jack Daniels on Greg's breath.
$50.00. Fantastic !

This year's Nakusp Music Fest is gonna be great. It's on the same weekend as the Nelson RAT Raid but I'm heading there for Sunday. On that day there will be Savoy Brown, The Grapes of Wrath, Soul Asylum, AND the Doobie Brothers not to mention lesser known bands like The Perms and The Sheepdogs. All this for $103!

Anyone interested in knowing more check out the link below. Saturday will be great too with bands like Gary Hoey, Canned Heat, Spencer Davis Group and Kevin Costner & Modern West. What a lineup!!

I prefer smaller "club" bands myself. I don't think I've been to an arena size show (Does Yo Gabba Gabba count?) in 20 years.
Maybe being in a "club" style punk rock band I'm a bit biased. I prefer to see really excited people putting their heart in it rather than some old dude who is just there for the paycheck.

My last big show was probably GWAR and the Misfits, and that was seven or eight years ago.

I did see Social Distortion back in the 80's. I think I paid $5.00. I still have the poster too.

I caught Steve Miller at Warren Haynes Xmas Jam back in December. Tix were about $60 each after the Ticket B@stard fees. Show started at 7pm and ended around 3:30AM! Steve Miller was good, but I'm not sure I'd go to see his band alone.

Next up is Furthur. $65 floor seats. Not sure how this will pan out.

Going to see Wine, Women and Song record a live DVD at Green's Grocery in Nashville in a couple of weeks. Of course I won those tickets so all we are paying for is a place to stay. I also like to support local folks at open mic nights or local clubs whenever we can. I love it when folks are making music for the love of it.

The last gig I went to in the UK was Arch Enemy, 3 support bands who were all pretty good, 4 hours playing time. £20 which I thought was pretty good. Slayer was £20 also but just the one support and they played 2 1/2 hours.

Having said that ticket prices for gigs are pretty outrageous but then a lot of artists now lose out on record/CD sales so they regain that lost revenue on concert fees.

When you consider the price for sporting event tickets where the outcome is pretty unpredictable, music concerts do seem a bit better value for money.

You beat me to the lap dance comment on Marie. I just saw her in some slim fast or other diet aid commercial. She had dropped 50 lbs and was looking pretty good! However, I never would have thought to consider Donny for that!

Last show I went to was the Greatful Dead at Cap Center in DC right after Brent Midland died. Bruce Hornsby was on the keyboards , best show I ever saw. I saw them 2 night in a row that time. Paid about $90 for obstructed view behind the stage from Ticket Master but your seat doesn't matter at a Dead show. There is a long funny story connected with that show that I don't feel like typing.

I'm pretty selective on my concert tix any more. I did pop $75 or so for Clapton/Windwood at MSG but passed on the $100+ for Roger Waters. We paid $35 for tickets to see Gov't Mule at an outdoor arena on a beautiful August evening in VA. That was a great deal.

I'd drop 75 on Clapton/Winwood in a heartbeat. I saw Clapton on his unplugged tour back before I had kids. Was a great show, but seeing Clapton and Winwood together again would be so much better. That tour only hits the left coast though. I had every intention of seeing Roger Waters in Buffalo, but I wound up camping with my son at Webloree. Gov't Mule at 35 is the way things ought to be....
