Having shipped off my Scottoiler and Slipperblock, I was cleaning things up and came across some literature on this company. I'm not sure where I got it originally. I was looking through their stuff and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them

Bohn Body Armor

I already have a very good, trusted and heavy Triumph riding jacket. For longer rides, I tend to use my trusted Tourmaster armoured pants. But when I'm just riding around town, I tend to go with just chaps over my jeans (I'm thinking of adding the Diamond Gusset kevlar jeans to my wardrobe).
However, some of these armored pants, under the jeans, might be a nice addition instead of wearing the chaps.

Any opinions?

The chaps and kevlar jeans are good to prevent road rash, not much protection from impacts. If you need to protect your bones and joints I would say go armour. I dont kow much about them but they look effective.

(So, I guess you don't just put on a speedo and go )

I have used the Bohn pants for the past few years. I thing it is pretty good stuff. I would recommend buying a size smaller than you think you need. I found the knee protection to slide off the knee when riding and be more on the side than on the knee cap. The tail bone protection can be a pain the a** on long rides. I had to take it out on a long ride last year. It is generally comfortable to wear and not hot. I wear some kevlar sliders over them.

I've worn the Bohn pants for two years now under my Kevlar jeans. They help me stay warm in low temps and help cool by wicking moister away when riding in 100+ temps.

I'm short legged, so I just cuff the leg under and the knee pads stay put just right where I need it.

Truthfully, I feel uncomfortable when I don't wear them.

Thanks for the feedback. I might consider adding some Bohn pants for my round town riding. Those armoured Tourmaster pants are good (and I know they work), but not convenient for running errands and putting around town in.
