Well erle, I found the actor's name who played the Mexican bandito in John Huston's "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfonso_Bedoya..BUT unfortunately I can't find the name of the guy who delivered that line in "Blazing Saddles", and I'm pretty sure it WASN'T Cheech Marin. (...my guess is that it was Mel Brooks' gardener...but like I said, that's ONLY a guess!!!!)

rhetoric Definition rhet·o·ric :NOUN 1. persuasive speech or writing: speech or writing that communicates its point persuasively 2. pretentious words: complex or elaborate language that only succeeds in sounding pretentious 3. empty talk: fine-sounding but insincere or empty language 4. skill with language: the ability to use language effectively, especially to persuade or influence people 5. study of writing or speaking effectively: the study of methods employed to write or speak effectively and persuasively [ 14th century. Via Old French rethorique < Greek art of public speaking" "speaker" ]

A rhetorical question, in simple terms, describes a question often based on rhetoric that does not necessarily require an answer. In fact, it is often a way of making a tentative statement but phrasing it in the form of a question. Frequently, a rhetorical question is a tool people use in debate to avoid making an outright declaration, but at the same time still being able to make a point. If called out on the point later, or shown that it was not accurate, the speaker can then claim it was only a question. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-rhetorical-question.htm
