Well technically you don't have to remove them, just pull them out of their boots and tilt to the side. Here's a great "how to" on the job from our very own Dinqua:
Pat's Carb Site If you get the allen-head carb screw set (NewBonneville.com), you'll be able to reject in the future with the carbs in place. It's a bit tricky, but can be done. With the factory screws, you'll never get them out without pulling the carbs loose for better access.
