Smaug is a funny guy. I hope he has fun sifting through Triumphrat.net where they'll nuke or edit your post or signature just for mentioning another site like BA.com. There are plenty of self-exiled-from-here jackholes there to commiserate with.
My only thing, Chad, is that with helmets, it's like clockwork. As soon as someone brings up anything about them, someone else will crap on the thread about not wearing one. Like. Clockwork. It's a lot like Ian's tendency to crap on any thread about oiling chains or Newspeedmaster.com. Clockwork.
It's nothing personal. And rarely do people actually come out and say not wearing one is stupid (this thread is an exception). Most of the time people, myself included, respect the choice of the non-helmet wearing set, though we might disagree. It's a personal choice. But the non-helmet wearers, for whatever reason, get all high and mighty about it, often inventing stories about why helmets are bad.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. This particular subject, after watching this exchange happen since 2002, is a sore one.
So, what were we talking about? Carry on.

well as I said You are a good guy and were a little uptight about the arguments that insue when helmets are mentioned. I like Smaug too he is a good guy and he'll come around. I was honestly not trying to cause an arguement. The resulting conversations with Keith has been productive though. That was wearing me out. I think him and I are good now. maybe.

::diatribe deleted--it's not worth it::
If indeed smaug did leave he's welcome to come back anytime. Or not. Up to him. If he didn't leave that just makes him a drama queen given his earlier outburst. If he doesn't get any value out of this place then I'm sure he'll find it elsewhere. Maybe on YouPorn.

You gotta give a guy a steam blow off or two every now and then. (I guess you get sick of policing it). This is a large group that gets together often. Some times people are going to not get along, its no reason to split.

IMHO you can't beat the Shoei Multi-tech. Only prob is price.
Great fitting for my pin head and when/if the padding gets a bit loose/ dirty etc you can buy replacement sections.
Not noisy at all either. I can't fault mine and worth the extra $'s

I kinda wish I had more options, but as it is only a couple helmets (maybe only one modular) fit my head and the one I use doesn't cost a small fortune.

Me too I been shopping for helmets but my head is too big I guess. I am not going to buy one on line till I can find something that works. Every Helmet I tried was like trying to shove a grape fruit into a drinking cup. I really like the look of the Bell helmets too, but a xxL was tight as .............. well too tight to tolerate.

All you need is a flat tape meas. , the kind seamstresses and tailors have, and measure your nogging around the circumference level with your temples.

Why not have a 3rd reason there... to protect your head! THAT would be the best reason to give to your customers for buying one.

That too Kieth, I just though it goes with out saying. It has been on my mind lately the potencial for being harmed. I haven't been feeling so invincible as of late. Every time I see a cager approaching an intersection, its on my mind that they could just jump out there. (I would like to open my shop.... if I could just get paid for the job I did. I would have the cash to open up.)
