I don't think it's beyond anyone's capabilities here, skill wise or budget.
He just sanded the tins to bare metal, took a right angle grinder to it to get the swirls, then cover with translucent paint.
As SOON as I can afford another tank, I'll be trying it with blue or purple.
(should be with in the next five years)
