Congrats to the Packers and their fans. The game was great except for the last 2 mins when the Steelers failed to remember what a 2 min. drill is. But, the Steelers were winners all the same, in the locker room at the half they missed the show.

Well actually newt, there's a long history of famous singers screwin' up the lyrics of our National Anthem. Does the name Robert Goulet ring a bell?! Yep, he REALLY flubbed the song once a few decades ago, and caught crap from all quarters about it TOO back then. And secondly, I'll bet almost as many of us old farts have a problem with it as do the younger generation. BUT, the thing I'm REALLY tired of is all this friggin' COLORATURA(that's all that needless "Hey, listen to what a great friggin' voice I have because I can make a one friggin' syllable word in this song into like TEN syllables and even go into the next higher friggin' octave while I'm doin' it") crap, that's seems ALL the friggin' rage nowadays when this younger generation "tackles" this song. (...yep, I always feel like blurtin' out when I hear 'em do this somethin' like....HEY, JUST SING THE FRIGGIN' SONG, WILL YA "CARUSO"?!!!!!!)

Oh, and besides newt, AT LEAST little Christina didn't use that friggin' AUTO-TUNE gizmo when she (attempted) to sing it!!!!!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I agree. I'm not a vocalist, trust me. My understanding is that the Anthem is a hard song to sing. So why stylize it. A professional singer has two responsibilities, learn the music and memories the lyrics. Christina blew it.

I keep hearing this "auto-tune" phrase, what the hell is that robotic voice tuning in to exactly?

I really don't think Christina's singing at the Super Bowl did anything for her career!

WOW your relationship with your dad is awesome dude.
He is a great dad (retired Army vet). Those new toys he received from the VA for his television viewing and most importantly reading was a god-send. They gave him about $10k in tools. The reader alone was about $5k. At 91, I'm not sure how many Super Bowls he has left in him (still healthy) so I hate to miss any of those type events these days. Now I'll have to find him a "Superbowl Champs" t-shirt!

Pap takes a minute during a food run to strike a Heisman pose in Packers gear.
Now that's a great story Al,
If your dad was to tune his internet connection to the radio feed from WTMJ radio, he'd be hearing the Welcome Home celebration where 55,000 notquiterightinthehead fans have packed in the "Promised Land" AKA Lambeau field in 5dF to welcome the boys back home.
