Similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago at a roundabout. Luckily sounds like you got off pretty lightly. I ended up with nearly £2,700 worth of damage and missed most of that year’s riding season what with insurance/ parts delays and one thing and another.
Good advice Vegas, I try to do this and also flash rear brake light a few times to hopefully make sure they’re awake!
