Brad,
Have you taken delivery of your pipes? The instructions that came with mine gave a recommendation. I think it was 130. The Staintunes don't come with jets. You will have to get them somewhere. Brent has them or you can get them from your dealer. At your elevation I think you could easily run 135s. I am at 138 right now, but I'm starting to think that's a little rich. I also run 45 pilots. Stock pilots are 42. Pilots are really your option. Lots of guys run stock pilots and are perfectly happy. The bigger pilots give me a little better starting, especially on cold mornings, and less popping on decel. You don't need to turn the air mix screws out so far if you use larger pilot jets. My dealer mechanic also recommended using 1 or 2 washers under my stock needles to help the midrange. I'm using 1 washer.
One more thing. Do yourself a favor and order the stainless carb screws from Brent. The stock brass screws are soft and strip easily. In fact, if you order everything from Brent at one time you only pay one shipping charge. He delivers fast too. (No I don't work for him, he has just given me good service)
So, for a starting point:
135 mains
45 pilots
1 washer under needle
(Brent's carb screws)
That's the way I'd do it.
Regards,
Cody
