I cut the bottom half of mine off, the half that ends up inside the airbox. If you do this, make sure you leave the ridge on the side you cut off so that it will still "seat" in the bracket. When you are done you should have a ridge on the top of the bracket and a ridge on the bottom of the bracket but no bellmouth in the airbox. It seemed to fit a little better after I got rid of the bottom half.
You can see the "ridge" I'm talking about in your second picture right where it goes through the bracket, theres a second one under the bracket.
