So, how much did ya pay for it?

Well Pat, I wish I had money enough to bid on it, but the owner of this DeSoto was standing next to it when I walked by, and I did ask him what he was hoping to get for it. He first asked me what I thought it was worth, to which I replied I didn't really know what late '50s Virgil Exner styled "Forward Look" Mopars were going for in today's market, and so I didn't want to even venture a guess, but then he told me he was looking to get about $200,000 for this. I couldn't believe that at all, but seeing as how it has the original Hemi in it(just like the highly sought after Chrysler "Letter Cars" of that era), I suppose there might end up being a bidding war for it between a few folks with that kind of money in their pockets. However, I was thinking the guy MIGHT be lucky to get about half that figure.

But, like I said, I'm not really up on what the present market is today for that particular line of classic car.

(btw...the Lot# for this vehicle is 987...and so by the end of this weekend I guess we can see how close the guy came to his figure by going into the Barrett-Jackson website)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
