Dan all of that is good except the dog bit, because the potential for mom or dad to sue you. saddly enough our courts are not a good place to end up. Even if you win your case you still end up out a lot of money.
The wonderful thing about Texas is we have the "castle law" which allows you to protect your property with deadly force. Here you can even shoot some one for breaking into a niehbors house ( a case here Joe Horne in Pasadena Texas shot and killed two guys who were come out of his niehbors house with stuff they were trying to steal. Joe got no charges filled against him by the state prosecuter.)
