I've begun work on my 1969 Denver's chopper which has been sitting with very little attention for 7 years since I bought it as a basket case on Ebay. It is based on a 1966 Triumph T-120 motor which I have completely rebuilt and polished to show quality. It has a long, narrow springer frontend and a custom frame with big stretch in the down tubes and backbone. It measures just under 9' long. I have spent a few hours, over the years, planning and slowly progressing intermittently. My New Years resolution is to complete this project in time for the spring and summer bike shows. Pictures to follow

Cool, a real Denvers bike is find and always worth saving. I like your build style, can't wait to see this unfold. Take a lot of pix!

I've just followed a Denver's Chopper restoration over on the Jockey Journal. Awesome bikes and I can't wait to see pics. You're a very lucky man finding that!

Sounds cool Paul, I polished the entire engine, head, and rockers to show finish in my 66 TR6C chopper too. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. Some of the polishing on mine was tough since there was a step between the cases I had to blend and took me a while to smooth the rough cast parts and fins on the head.
Edit: I also polished the carb and intake on mine. (single carb.)

for a minute there I was going to give you major props cause I thought that was in the living room.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Named for Denver Mullins, RIP, from Las Vegas. Didn't he die in a boat accident?

If you look at my photobucket page you can see my chopper (red) getting a new top end in my living room. There is also a BSA there and a 500cc Daytona and a 250cc Trail Blazer. There is a shot of the 67 Bonnie hardtail I was building in my kitchen and later my Norton was next to that and my 54 T-110 too.
EDIT: By the way when I moved from that house to where I live now the Ol' Lady said no more bikes and parts through the whole house so now I have 15 bikes in what is supposed to be my dining room.

I'll bet it was chrome at one point. There wasn't much there when I got it, (frame, forks, motor, and some beater wheels). I would have done a correct restoration but I don't even have a picture of it as Denver, Mondo, and Freddie sent it out in 1969. This does free me up to build it as I see fit. I'll probably powdercoat the springer and frame, this is gonna be a budget build since only a dreamer would consider riding this thing any great distance. If I'm gonna chrome anything, it's gonna be Speedmaster parts.

That's correct, in 1996 he was racing a jet powered boat on a lake. Jet engines take a few seconds to power up, they also take a few seconds to power down. His boat flipped and propelled itself straight to the bottom drowning him inside. He was a real cool guy who revolutionized choppers, hot rods, and the whole mail order parts industry.

And wasn't his death the catalyst for mandating sealed cockpits with oxygen supplies or something?

Paul, put some forward controls and pull back bars so you can sit in comfort and you can ride one pretty far. I rode mine from here in NE PA to NW Wyoming when I went to Yellowstone and I did it in 36 hrs. Older now, would probably have to do it in 2 days now.
Looking at it in the pic the springer looks like it was just raw steel.I have one that would probably look that way in a pic too though that was chrome.

Did you say 7 years? Now I don't feel so bad taking 3 years to finish mine. Post some pics when you get that bad boy done. I always loved his bikes....Angelis

My identical twin brother and I used to build bikes together in our spare time (about 1 per year). He died 6 years ago and even though he played a much smaller role in the building, I haven't been able to do a complete build by myself. My New Year's resolution is important because it's time to get back in the saddle. I have, however, done some customization of existing bikes in the last 6 years including Kevin's bike which can be seen in the custom section.
