Due to a lot of personal stuff going on, and a sweet new job, I haven't been able to devote any time to the rally yet. However, the rally may be just the distraction I need. This year I'd like to shoot for the 24th, 25th and 26th of June. I will contact Timmermans and see if they have rooms avail for us that weekend. Stay tuned...

Sorry guys, my mother-in-law passed away saturday afternoon, the funeral was today. I haven't been able to contact the hotel or anything else. In fact, if someone else wants to take the lead on this thing this year (Gary?) it may be the best thing for the group. I'll still be there, but I have a ton going on right now. If no one wants to do it, I'll still do my best.

Hey Scott is Timmermans around Galena, Illinois? I guess really I'm asking where the rally is located.

Since this is a local event for me, i'll help- out with whatever is needed to make the 2011 Midwest Ralley happen. I haven't been paying attention to the logistics in the past. How many rooms will we need?

Last 2 years we have had 9 and 10 rooms respectively. I usually block out 15 but they don't all get filled. Better to have too many than not enough. A lot of guys/girls usually shack up with one another and that helps offset the price.

I'll try my best to make it again this year. As I have a few things going on right now too.
Do not look back and ask why, look forward and ask, why not?

I reserved 10 rooms today, she didn't seem to want to let me reserve 15 today. (language barrier maybe?) As it stands today tho we can get more if we let them know in the next few weeks. They are supposed to call me in the next couple of days to tell me rates, (they didn't have summer rates in the computer yet). I'll post rates as soon as i get them.

I think they give a little better rate for the group too being we go every year, I am not sure have to check with Scott on that. Im not sure how many rooms we used laast year, but like Scott said we all do a pretty good job of shacking up together to save cost for each.
On another note, hope things are going ok for you and your family Scott, I posted on your Facebook, but I dont make a habit of checking in everyday. You all deserve your family time.

I guess there's a chance that I will be able to make it there this year. It's always impossible to tell that far out with my work schedule. Sure had a good time the first year, though. One down side, there's no way the wife is going on any more bike trips. We've been to all kinds of places, from Canada to Key West, but I'm afraid that"s gonna be over now. Her health problems negate her even getting on a bike, let alone riding any distance. She did quite a bit of riding last year in the Russian sidecar, though. (No, there's no way I'm gonna take that antique that far out!) Although I rode for years by myself, and I didn't mind, it's hard to leave my "best girl" at home while I have a good time. (Sorry about the "OT", guess I'm feeling a little bummed about it.)

I know its still early, but was wondering if anyone has found out any more info? I may be starting a new job in the next couple weeks and I will need a confirmed date to tell them I already have a commitment for.
Rich, I understand how you feel. Still hope you can swing this one this year.

I called and spoke to the manager today and we're all set. Same prices as last year. $75 a night for friday and saturday night, and $50 for thursday night. I reserved all double rooms, so finding a roommate to hook up with will save you some serious beer money! I highly recommend it. You can still get a king room if you want (I did) you just have to tell them when you make your reservation. Again, the dates are thursday, June 23 - sunday,June 26. Call to reserve your room at 815-747-3181. Mention you're with the bonnevilleamerica.com group, if you want a king instead of a double, let them know. If you want a smoking room, let them know. I hope everyone can make it this year, it's been a tough stretch for a lot of us, I know, but rally time always puts a smile on my face. Next I'll see if I can get the friday evening happy hour cruise booked, unless you guys would rather do something else this year? Opinions? Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Post here or pm me. Gary - Thanks for helping out this year, I appreciate it. I'm going to lean on you again for ride planning, although It wouldn't hurt my feelings to go the same way as last year. 3rd annual BonnevilleAmerica.com Midwest Rally June 24, 25, 26, 2011 East Dubuque, Illinois (Galena area) Timmerman's hotel http://www.timmermanhotel.com/815-747-3181

http://www.americanladycruises.com/custompage3.asp?pg=happyWhat do you guys think? Do we stick to the tradition of sloppy joes and cheap draft beer? Or should we investigate other options?

Tough question... On one hand, I'm open to new ideas. On the other hand, the cruise is fun and it takes care of food, drink, and social hour.

I talked to the Triumph Distrubtors at the bike show.... Not alot came out of it. Maybe we can find a local dealer who could get us some cool freebies ???

I'll be there for sure. The Triumph dealer in Dubuque is Sindt Motors. They are located on Hiway 20 on the west side of town. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Good to have you Jim. The plans for this year haven't really been discussed yet, but last year went pretty well, so we'll probably just stick to that again. So, in a nutshell,Friday ride south, stop for root beer, end up for lunch at Poopy's in Savanna and then ride back up. Friday evening Happy Hour Cruise on the Miss River (maybe). Saturday long ride up the great river road on the Iowa side to Prairie Du Chien and back down the WI side, stopping for lunch somewhere along the way. Every evening concludes with beers and stories out on the deck of the hotel. And as always, nothing is mandatory, come and go as you please. Wives are welcome also.

I think last year most of us got there on thursday evening. You should check with Eddy, maybe ride down with him. It shoudn't be a problem finding a roommate for the weekend, guys are usually pretty good with that. Rick (livinginh) has first dibs on the pink boa, so no worries.
