Thought this might be of interest to those who might like a center stand but without spending the $275 for the after-market version. I bought a Triumph Sprint stand on ebay for $24, a spring, some welding etc, probably no more than $50 for the whole deal. Some pics: http://s751.photobucket.com/albums/xx151/maxkirby/The sprint worked well because it is the exact width needed to fit between the holes on the frame. I ground off the kick plate (hit the exhaust)and spring retainer. The stand was a too tall for me - rear wheel almost 3" off the ground but that be fine for some, so I cut it down about an inch and welded new plates on the bottom of the legs. Took a little trial and error with the spring distance and where to secure it, but seem to have ended up with a working position. Right now the top of the spring is attached to a 60 lb pull rate magnet with an eye, but when I like where it is I'll weld a U to the bottom of the arm and secure it that way. Some grinding was needed on the top of the stand to make it fit properly, but all in all and fun little project.

Like the backrest I manufactured from airport concourse chairs...turned out perfect, and very unique...

Rivco? Because that's what people will pay. I remember when it first came out it was only in chrome for a few hundred. When that didn't sell and people complained about the price they came out with a black version at a lower price. They adjusted.

Aren't center stands pretty much for the guys who don't have a table, to change their oil on??My BSA stand works great but that 70 bonne i had, man it took a pretty strong dude to bring it back and up from the side.As the 70 bonne you lift the bike up as your pulling it back. Would this one here be like that?Is this one you are setting on, and pulling it back. It looks fairly easy to do,if measurements could be had. Very nice job btw

You have to stand to the left side of the bike to get the it on the stand, pull back on the handle bar and lift a little at the back - I have a luggage rack and sissy bar on my bike but it really doesn't require much lift. You can sit on it and push forward and it comes up easily.
