so we have scheduled a benefit ride and a day of fun to try and help my son with some bills(some of you might remember me talking about him falling 40' and breaking both legs and left arm with no ins. of any kind, and with a wife that cant work and 3 kids he needs help). we have a wrestling match, an antique car club, motorcycle ride (poker run)2 bands and things like bounce house, face painting kinda stuff for the kiddies. my question then is, can anybody come up with some more neat stuff for the kids to do and actually give me some more ideas for adults too. we are trying to make it a full day of activities and fun for the whole family. It started out as just a ride for some of the Abate gang and friends but has really taken off and turned into an event. OH and if anybody is gonna be in the area 2-20-11 be sure and check in, the more the merrier.
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Sounds like a ride in a South Westerly direction is coming up and it looks like Blue 88 is free in February. I'll skip the wrestling match er or should I bring some coleslaw for the ladies? Or Chocolate pudding? More games? The hot dog deal. Then there is the slow crawl. Cones too. Kiddies? A balloon clown. Get the 4H there and set up some kind of a petting pen. You'll need to post the details of where, when you have it sorted. See ya in a just over five weeks newt!

Newt--find some sponsors to donate things to raffle--goods and services both. They benefit from advertising and you raise money. Good luck with it!

Here is hoping for a good turnout and a lot of help for your son.

Hey Myke, post some times (for the poker run) when you get things sorted out. If it's not unreasonably cold (below 70), I'll be coming down, as I have the following Monday off. Average highs should be in the 70's, but you never know. Best of luck for both your benefit and your family.
And you may see me tonight

That's a cool thing you're doing for your son, Newt. What about one of those portable blow up trampoline/jungle gym sort of things for the kids? I think you can rent them. Hope things work out for the family and you all mkaes lots of money.

I wish I could come out for it. Heres an idea "BIKINI bike wash" always makes money.

well its been in the works now for awhile as there was some sched. issues with the faigrounds and finally everything is in stone. 4-17-11 collier county fairgrounds noon to 6pm. old cars, bikes, music, and wrestling (about 15 or so pro wrestlers live in the area) if any of you have ever heard of or seen a redneck dunk tank, we got one. Also 50-50 and other prizes to raffle from bike stuff to jewelry to dinners. i know its a long way for most of you but there was some fl. interest when i first posted so i thought i would bring all up to date on whats been happening and if anybody can make it, GREAT!! i am trying very hard to get a good Triumph showing, being that there will be many of them other guys there hahahahaha Now an update on him, he is doing as well as we can hope for, still in a chair but now has the hallo rings off the L foot and the cast off the right. has several more surgeries to the L ankle area and just had what we are hoping is the last of a few on the left wrist. rent is falling behind as is others like car but the church brings food once a week and the family is of course doing what they (we) can but its not enough, soooo... the benefit is something we hope will get them some relief???
