And so, what I'm wondering here is IF with all this "freedom" with which we Americans supposedly pride ourselves...well, IF maybe with all this "freedom" IF we ALSO often lose sight of the idea of "personal restraint and responsibility" in our actions and/or words, as compared to other places in this world?

(...there's ya somethin' to contemplate, huh?!)

Good point, Dwight. I sometimes think of the old example of NOT protected free speech, wherin a person is not allowed to yell fire in a movie theatre just for fun. Public discourse, and especially RADIO "personalities", are allowed to say nearly anything nowadays, whether true or not, as "entertainment. (And I'm specifically thinking of RL.) Personal responsibility is ever more lacking in actions AND what you say.
Having said that, I'm no fan of the PC police. Everybody is so thin skinned today, that I'm afraid to use the Lords name in vain, because I'm afraid he might return just to sue me!

I realy love the way this gets laid at radios feet. Its forgoten that a certain T.V. personality had a snipers wanted sighn on the bottom of the screen while G.W. was giving a speech. John Carry said " I could go down to 1600 pennsulvania ave. and kill the real bird with one stone." on a T.V. personalities show one night.
A certain President said he was carrying a gun to a knife fight. And many other such very same situations but it get spun to one side and layed on radio.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
