Mind is as rough as an old mountain road. It would require some machine sanding to get it smooth enough to start polishing. That chrome one in the classifieds is starting to sound good!

Dood...Ive seen those old nasty cast ones. They are scarry. I think polising one of those might drive a man to powdercoat .
A scene from a movie, guys getting a pedicure and the lady pulls out the grinder, sparks fly...thats how I picture polishing that older lower yoke.

Can someone please remind me, or better yet, smack me upside my head for:
is there any reason why I didn't polish my yoke when I had this all apart??? I polished my forks a long time ago and my yoke is the rough '02 casting.

I think Zmilin dealt with this when he chromed his front end. You might want to PM him if he doesn't chime in.

Sure did.
I had it pressed out by a shop then pressed it back in when I got the yoke back.

While your in there you might as well upgrade the bearings to the All Balls tapered. They come with a new dust cover.

P.S. dont forget to mark the bottom of the yoke with a scribe or something so you can align the yoke and stem again. Not important unless you use your fork lock.
