Yeah, well, I think some people around here take all this kidding around business to the extreme, if ya ask me! A practice I endeavor to keep myself from falling into at all costs!!! (...btw Julie, nice bike, nice smile...oh, and very nice reflectors, I might add)

I have to agree with the guys about the screen Julie. I think it is mounted incorrectly. When looking the magnificent bike from the side view, the screen should follow the angle of the forks pretty much. I dont actually have a screen on mine, maybe someone could pipe in who has, but with it so vertical it would be aerodynamically wrong like pushing a wall around if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes it came with some extras that I would have added on anyway so that's a bonus...it also came with a small T-bags day pack which was nice. Luckily it was so cold in my garage last night otherwise I might have been tempted to sit and admire it all night! A few of you mentioned that the windscreen was too vertical. I looked at the brackets and don't see any other way it could be mounted. I took a couple pics to show you so maybe you can see what might be wrong. Let me know what you think.

Congrats on the new ride I think the top legs are on backwards. They are specific to left and right sides. Here's how they should look: The glass should rake backwards and the glass should be pretty much parallel to the forks. The lower windshield mounts should look like this: Hope this helps, H.

Yep they are on upside down and possibly back to front if they dont line up when you turn em around. It should look like Hyates' screen. You gotta wonder how long the previous owner had been riding around like that. LOL.

The backrest looks good with the luggage rack sitting lower than the Triumph accessory version.

Julie, From the Tech Vault Note, You have to set the filter to all dates to see most of the stuff in the tech vault. Hum wonder if that date range default can be set to "all"? anyway here is the destructions for the Roadster Screen courtesy of Triumph corporate.

Well I can't see the pics that Hyates posted...they don't show up here at work for some reason...but in looking at the instructions that Moe sent, my windscreen is installed correctly. But after looking at the pic Dave posted of his bike & screen, it looks like the upper brackets on my screen are longer and stick out further making the screen more vertical. I wonder if those brackets don't really belong to that Triumph windscreen. The guy I bought it from said he never used the screen, that it was added by the original owner. Is it going to cause any issues by having the screen more vertical than it's supposed to be??

you might triple check the installation vis-a-vis the destructions pdf.
Next course of action would be to loosen it all up and shift it to where the screen should be, then re-tighten all. Page 3, step 10. Step 11 is optional. Step 12 is frivolous!

I made the brackets that bolt under the top triple tree 1" longer for my Triumph summer screen. It doesnt stand quite as straight up as yours. It reduced the buffeting for me. If it feels solid I think I would try it like it is at different speeds.

These do not look like the correct top brackets. Mine are different. Perhaps those are the brackets for a standard Bonnie????

Charlie - I think you are correct. The top brackets are too long and stick out too far. Not sure where they came from but I would imagine it will be pricey to get the correct brackets from Triumph. I think I'll just have to have people make fun of my too vertical windscreen for a little while just like they're making fun of my fork reflectors! Just call me... But since this is the scene outside my house right now I don't think anyone will be seeing my bike outside anytime soon!

I think they are backards. On mine, the 1.5" section (from the bend) attaches to the triple tree bracket and the 2.5" section attaches to the screen.

If you just take the brackets off and spin them around the other way, make sure you loosen the bottom brackets it will pull the screen back at the top. I am sure they are on upside down. Just looking at the pic, the screen will then have the correct angle.

StevieB - but the flared top part of the bracket is supposed to be screwed into the screen like it already is, isn't it? That's just how it is in the instruction link that Moe attached. I seriously think they're just the wrong top brackets. Looking at the pics other people have posted, their top brackets are much smaller. At some point I'll take it apart and turn the brackets around and see what happens. Thanks for everyone's input.

Sorry Julie, I thought the flared part at the top might be like a sleeve that the bracket slide into. My mistake if it is one piece as that would be on the screen end I guess.
I think it is a very cool bike and you have done well. Pity about the snow.

Those top pieces sure look like standard Bonnie pieces. It might be a little challenging on a windy day with the screen sticking up like that. But, it's never very windy in KC is it? <g> Check Ebay for a used screen. Maybe you'll find one that has the plastic in rough shape but you can't do much to those brackets.
A new, removable Memphis Shades screen or other brand is probably cheaper than new brackets (if you can even buy just the brackets).

If new brackets are needed, you need an Upper Fixing Kit. comes with the two arms, and the grommets for the windshield as a kit. I don't know if the arms can be had separately.

If you decide to try a different windshield, the Dart fly screen would also be a nice alternative: get it here from Fast Eddy - a good guy on this forum!!

I suspected that from the back yard pics. I also live in the northland, Gladstone. The owners of Engles Motors are also from the northland.

Well Chad, I don't go scubadiving in Missouri unless I wanna dive in a lake which isn't really my cup of tea. I usually travel to a Caribbean island when I want to scuba dive.
