Took the Speedy out yesterday for a nice 1 1/2 hour ride. Roads were perfectly dry and it started minor snowing while I was out. Pretty cool riding while its snowing, it's like being in outerspace with all the stuff coming at you! With my electric vest and gloves, windshield and lowers, I was nice and toasty warm. I had a pair of winter boots on but towards the end of the ride they started getting a little bit cool. Temperature was 35 degrees and when your doing 60, with the wind chill factored in, it's like 17 degrees. I only do this so the cagers will have something to talk about when they get home. "Honey, you won't believe what I saw on the way home, some moron was out on his motorcycle going like ****** with a smile on his face". Someone has to do it, I hear it helps prevent cagers road rage!

Thats dedication! The only time I ever rode in the snow was on my old dirt bike back when I was 16 or 17. And that was limited to a couple of laps around the house, some donuts and broadsides in the driveway. This past Saturday, it was in the 50's and I did see a couple of bikes out. I was seriously thinking about it. But its such a pain in the keister to get her out of winter storage in the basement. I have to take the basement door off its hinges, and take the handlebars off to fit through. I need to put in a set of patio doors down there so I can just wheel her in and out on a moments notice. If I could have done that, I would definately have been out there.

I've been out in flurries before. It's surreal. Last weekend it hit 50 and I got out. Too cold now. Heated riding gear. Hmmmm...

The last time I rode in the snow was when I was 19 and broke most of the time. My car was broke, rode a 1973 trumpet most of the winter. Snow suit and frozen hands. Girlfriend lived twenty miles out in the country, and her parents felt is was "wrong" for a girl to "drive to see the boy". (Shoulda dumped that moron family then and there, to my lasting regret).

Wow, guess I'm lucky....Put Kimmys battery on charge, forgot about it, re-installed it on the bike, and she's been starting up okay ever since...Did'nt have to take the hinges off the door though!!! God bless ya....

Mustard, did your faceshield freeze? I rode last spring at about 35 degrees and inside of my faceshield froze. I had to open the thing to see and that was not fun on the freeway.

Good for you Robert... THAT'S the spirit!! I got caught in a snow squall last spring while out on the bike. As someone mentioned... it was SURREAL!! Good for the soul though!

That's great! I've also ridden in snow flurries, lots of fun until it starts to stick to the ground!
Heated gear is the way to go. It'll really extend your riding season.

this morning when i left for work it was 34 and really foggy...so much that i had to ride with my face shield up.
the vest and the gloves kept me warm but my nose froze...had to duck under the wind blast from the windshield.
never rode in a snow fall but i have in hail...that hurt!

If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.
