It's been a fun day today :-)

it's minus 8(c) outside, (Thats 17 degrees in fahrenheit) and black ice/snow everywhere so have been in the garage all day with a couple of heaters on.. and the bike up in the air on my new hydraulic lift :-)

Today, as well as routine maintenance, I've fitted - Oxford heated grips, a Scottoiler e-system and a tomtom rider :-)

The Scottoiler - I know some of you are riding with no chain lube, but here with the constant wet weather & road salt & crap, I believe the scottoilers make a huge difference to chain/sprocket life. We'll see how it works out! It was dead easy to fit, and being the electronic one there was no need to tap into the vacuum..

The heated grips.. oh yeah, I'm so looking forward to these, it hasn't made it above 0 for quite some time now :-) Last trip I did was a couple of weeks back, and was -2c (28f) and my hands were painful - really hoping these will make a good difference. Again, they were pretty easy to fit. However -- they do conflict with the BMW hand protectors I put on recently, so those have had to be removed - I may see what I can achieve with some dremel work on those and maybe attempt to re-fit.

Tomtom rider, looks ok so far, I plan to do some trips down through France / Spain and around, so this is gonna be v handy. Its designed to be easy with gloves on, talks nicely to the iPhone too, and feeds the calls up via bluetooth to the helmet..

It was the first time I took the tank etc off, and all went just fine - I'm very very pleased with the lift, made it all very straightforward.

Tomorrow's job: detail clean, and then a comprehensive go over with the ACF50!

Happy days :-)
